Norway, a land of mountains, forests, fjords and Trolls, and it was to here that 4 members of the Chester Security Team flew on their annual walk to raise much needed funds for their nominated charity CHICS.

Verdal is a small town 300 miles south of the Arctic Circle and this was where David Kinnair, Dave Thomas, Ian Griffin and Graham Smith completed the 2 day, 25km per day route, which is the 12th of 17 in the European walking association calendar that they have taken part in.

Day 1 began early, bussed into Sweden and then walking back through thickly wooded areas and into Norway and although quite northerly, the weather was kind, which changed dramatically on Day 2, with a cold wind and driving rain. All 4 participants completed both days tired but in good spirits and it is hoped that through kind donations and sponsorship they can raise over 1000.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone for their continued support.

It’s official, he did it... Lee Horan (pictured left), QVC Knowsley, bravely shaved his head (zero all over) for Children's Cancer Support Group (CHICS) yesterday.

CHICS is a charity close to Lee’s heart and so far he’s raised over 450 - amazing!

We caught up with Lee after the big shave and he told us, "When CHICS came on-board as QVC Knowsley's Q3 charity I was racking my brains trying to think of something good that I could do to raise as much money for them as possible. I know a lot of people shave their heads but the people who know me, know that this was a really big deal for me as I've never had a bald head in all my 30 years (even when I was a baby!).

"It was a shock at first but now its done, I'm sort of getting used to it. I would just like to say I am overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who has sponsored me - the total now stands at over 450 and I'm really hoping to break the 500 barrier. There’s still time to sponsor me by visiting my Just Giving page. Thanks again, everyone."

As Lee’s mentioned above, there’s still money flying in so if you would like to show your support for Lee and CHICS by making a donation, please visit his Just Giving page at:
