Christmas Cards:
CHICS are selling Xmas Cards this year. Each pack contains 10 of the same card and costs £3.50 per pack. If you wish to buy any for yourself, or can sell some in your school, place of work, etc., please contact your local group. Lapland:
CHICS have been offered places by Northern Lights Charity for a trip to Lapland from 20th December for 3 nights. This trip is for patients only who are aged 6 - 10 years of age, who will be very well supervised and accompanied by two members of the nursing staff from Alder Hey. They must have completed all treatment at least 6 months ago and not have been on the trip before. If your child is interested in going please call the CHICS office on 0151 523 8886. Please note this does not guarantee your child a place as the places are shared between all three CHICS Groups.

Wristbands:
You cannot fail to have noticed how the wrist bands, started by the Lance Armstrong Foundation to raise money for Cancer Charities have taken the nation by storm. So we thought we would have our very own CHICS band done. What we need now are our members to sell as many as they can, if you are able to do this ring the office and we will get these out to you.

Travel for Charity:
If you are thinking about summer holidays, why not book your holiday through the above named organisation. By booking through this agency, a large proportion of the commission charged on the holiday will be donated to a charity of your choice. Prices are exactly the same if you book with a high street travel agent but by doing it this way you can donate money to CHICS with no extra cost to yourselves. Patient and Carers Council:
This group will be holding monthly meetings at Alder Hey on MONDAY 10am-12pm and WEDNESDAY 7pm-10pm. If you are in the hospital already why not try to go along. If not and you think you may be interested then please try to attend.

Sibling Day:
Does your brother or sister have cancer? Are they still on treatment? Are you aged between 7-16?

Then why don’t you come along to the Oncology unit and spend the morning doing great things with other people your age. Enjoy lunch and have fun. If interested speak to the Macmillan nurses or Cath/Tracy the CLIC Sargent Social Workers on the Oncology unit.

Do you use a search engine on the Internet? If so look at Everyclick, one of our parents have registered CHICS with this company. They will pay 1p for every search one of our members makes.
