The Plough Inn:
Here is Eddie Hincks with the owner, friends and children
from The Plough Inn Southport who raised £2,250.00 for
CHICS from a golf day. CHICS member Nathan Drummond,
front row third from left, nominated CHICS to receive the
Todd seen here walking out with Steven Gerrard,
fulfilling his dream to be Liverpool's Mascot.
Balloon Race 2007:
All three area
groups of CHICS held a "Great Balloon Race" on
International Childhood Cancer Day, Sunday 18th February
2007. The day was a great success and a good day was had
by all who attended. CHICS released over 1200 balloons
and the winning balloon was found in Suzanne, France and
Stephane Mullie returned the card. They received 75. The winner was Rhiannon Preuss
and they received a cheque for £100.

Our thanks go to
Annette Smith and family for organising a charity night
which raised £1,000 for Liverpool CHICS. The
picture is of Helen and Rachel. Annette's third daughter,
Sophie, won the prize for best dressed female, which was
judged by Eddie Hincks.
Over the Wall
These two pictures
are of CHICS siblings on a visit to the Over the Wall
Camp near Bournemouth. A great time was had by all. For

Roby College -
Here's a picture of Eddie meeting with a group of
students, and their tutor Eve, at Roby College. They were
dong a series of fundraising events for CHICS, including
some of the GUYS having their legs waxed, painful.

Hello my name is
Lisa, I was diagnosed with rhabdomysarcoma in 1986. I
have enclosed a picture of me in my midwifery uniform,
something I always wanted to do.

Liverpool Half Marathon:
Our thanks go to Peter Schriewersmann of AVARTO who
ran the Liverpool Half Marathon on behalf of CHICS and
raised the fantastic sum of £500. Well done Peter. Our thanks also go to
Lawrence Halpin, (right on photo) for taking part in the
Liverpool Half Marathon and raising the fantastic sum of £1305.00.
Well done to you Lawrence.
Our thanks go to our member Jeanette Daly who along with
her friends Annette and Julie raised the fantastic sum of
£474.20 in the Womens 10K.
Sponsored Walk 2008:
This is a picture is of Harry Williams and his friends
before setting off on their sponsored walk from
Llandudno to Abergele on 23rd August 2008 in aid of CHICS.
A big thank you to all for your efforts.
Our thanks go to Daniel Alcorlo-Daley who very kindly and
bravely swam across the River Mersey to raise funds for
CHICS. Daniel raised the fantastic sum of £750.00. He
is seen here just after the swim and presenting the
cheque accompanied by CHICS members, mum Dawn, children
Faye & Lydia and Clare who suggested that Daniel
donate the money to CHICS. Well done and thank you.
Echo Pride of Merseyside
For those of you who dont already know CHICS won
the Community Award at the above awards night, on
Thursday 9th September 2010. The award was presented at
the Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Liverpool and it was a
fantastic night with many moving and inspirational
stories from many walks of life. The award was the
recognition that I think we would all agree CHICS really
deserves for the fantastic work it does for all its
CHICS were nominated by Gill
Freeman (there were 106 nominations in our category) and
it was lovely that Gill, Paul, Rebecca and Thomas could
join us on the night. Thank you Gill.
Thank You Les:
Our sincere thanks go to our friend Les Twist for
organising a charity night for CHICS at Blackbrook
Working Mens Club and raising the fantastic sum of £2368.00.
Les himself has not been too well himself recently but
was still determined to see this through. Les you are an
inspiration to us all.

The Liverpool CHICS
Christmas party took place on the 12th December 2011 and
was held at the Railway Club in Melling. The photo's were
sent in by Melanie Allen.
Presentation at Merseycats:
Here is a picture of Mr Ronnie Hodge (left) and legendary
60's singer Lee Curtis (right) of the Merseycats,
presenting a cheque for £1000 to
CHICS on Thursday 1st March 2012. The Merseycats meet
every thursday at the Holy Rosary in Aintree, and all the
acts and bands perform for free to raise money for
various childrens charities.
Here are gentlemen from Ormskirk Clocktower Rotary group
receiving lessons to knit Easter chicks to be sold in aid
of CHICS. Great effort guys.
Annual Sponsored Walk:
This is Harry Williams and his friends on their annual

Here's a photo of Anna Mansley on her climb up

Well Done Girls:
Our thanks go to Lucy, Grace, Ciara and Thea for putting
on a Christmas show in their house for CHICS and
raising the fantastic sum of £52.60. Lucy & Ciara played their flutes,and
Grace & Thea did a play. They also held a raffle and
A huge thank you to Tony Lewis for agreeing to have his
head shaved on behalf of CHICS and raising the fantastic

North West Golf Club:
Our thanks go to The Wilson Family for nominating CHICS
to receive the donation of £358.00. This is part of the funds
collected at a recent golf competition held at North West
Golf Club in Rainford. Claudia is seen accepting the
cheque with Eddie. Also pictured are her dad Gary and
members of the Golf Club Committee.
Lee Horan - QVC Knowsley:
It's official, he did it... Lee Horan, QVC Knowsley,
bravely shaved his head (zero all over) for CHICS.
CHICS is a charity close to Lees
heart. We caught up with Lee after the big shave and he
told us, "When CHICS came on-board as QVC Knowsley's
Q3 charity I was racking my brains trying to think of
something good that I could do to raise as much money as
possible. I know a lot of people shave their heads but
the people who know me, know that this was a really big
deal for me as I've never had a bald head in all my 30
years (even when I was a baby!)".
"It was a shock at first
but now its done, I'm sort of getting used to it. I would
just like to say I am overwhelmed by the generosity of
everyone who has sponsored me - the total now stands at
over £450 and I'm really hoping to break the £500
barrier. Thanks again, everyone."
Merseycats at the Cavern 2013:
Here is Eddie receiving a cheque for £2000 from representatives of The
Merseycats at the Cavern. Our sincere thanks go to them
for their very generous and long term support of CHICS.
McDemott Memorial Golf Day & Football Match 2014:
Our thanks go to Pat, John, family and friends for
raising the fantastic amount of £2186.30 in
memory of Joe. The winners of the golf Mersey Brickwork

Sainsbury's Bike Ride
Cyclists from Sainsbury's Rice Lane store setting off on
their 50 mile bike ride. The Liverpool group were chosen
as their charity of the year 2016. This is one of their
events to raise funds for Liverpool CHICS. A massive
thank you to them all.
